The demo was released this week. Looks nice, handling is realistic and progressive. Too bad there is only one circuit in the demo (being mugello I believe) :frown: . Should be good when it comes out :D
98 NB8A, Mania CAI, Eibachs and Bilsteins, Whiteline brace, Starcorp's, DBA Slotted and asstd bling, FM butterfly brace. FFS coldside and the whiiiinnne. Now 138rwkw (Glory Run :) ) More with tuning.

Kijima - yeah, looks good. I've been hoping Foxtel shows it over here.

tk421 - one circuit in the demo, but plenty of cars to try. :) Have you tried it with a wheel? If so, which one and is it any good? :)

Hey Mate,

Haven't tried it with a wheel as I haven't bought one for the 360 . I believe the microsoft wireless one is very good though (and it can be used on a pc as well - though I know you have one already :) ). To use it I will have to get some new velcro to clamp it to my playseat though. I suppose lincraft or a hardware store may be able to help me with that.

So did you give in and get a 360 then :? :?: If so only three words for your next buy:

GEARS OF WAR  8)

Project gotham is also pretty cheap now and LOADS of fun to play online. Lots of racing but lots of idiots who can't drive (excluding me of course :P )

P.S If you do have a 360 how bout a pm of your live id :)

Yeah, that's the one I've been wondering about. I've been a bit shy of it as the wheels I tried on the original Xbox were ... not good (to be kind). :)

Even better - I won a 360! :D Gears of War was already tempting me and was one of the first games I bought for it. Great fun, although my PC-centric fingers still have trouble with FPS games using gamepads. :P

I played through the single player game, but every time I tried to get online there seemed to be only a handful of overseas players. I do like the photo mode though ...

I have found late in the evening (10:30 ish) is pretty good as everyone in the UK seems to come on at that time. During the day about 11:00 -3:00 is quite good as people from the states seem to be on then.

The most popular game on live seems to be call of duty 3, its buzzing pretty much every time I play. The maps are often completely full of people. Play is varied (ie game types) and quite a lot of fun. Nothing quite like wiping out people with tanks

I just can't get through the last boss fight "raam" on gears (on the harder skill level), I think I may have to run through the last level again and save up some rounds on the way for that compression bow rpg thing

To get back on subject we will have start up a bit of an online car club thing on forza 2. That'll be 8).

FYI I saw pricing for the 120gb hard drive today $225  . Probably cost them like $50 to make. Might still buy one though

Yep - level 21 here (at the moment). :) Great fun.

The tournaments are usually a set car on a set track - and the top drivers are amazingly fast. I'm guessing it comes down to car setup for the last few seconds to a great time - and a fluke lap for the extra 5 or 6 seconds that some people seem to manage. :D

We should organise a forum race some time.

Level 23 and slowly moving up here. I have managed to unlock the nurburgring in arcade mode now, so I am spending a fair bit of time there atm.

I'm \"Adam CLBMN5\" on Live. Usually booting around Maple Valley or Sunset Peninsula Infield in a B or A class car. D class races can be fun though

I like resurrecting old threads .... :P
Played this for the first last last weekend. VERY GOOD! Handling is the most realistic I have played on any console (though I haven't played GT4).
Last time I was impressed with the evolution of the physics engine on a game was way back when TOCA2 came out on Playstation.

I like the \"idea\" of the wheel, but I found that when the competition is really stiff, a wheel (and associated pedals) are too \"numb\".

BTW .... what's with the first super-sharp 90degree right-hand corner at Suzuka?! Is that for real?!
If so .... surely they wouldn't have a wall, low and padded as it may be, RIGHT THERE!, ie, if you miss the corner, you are stuffed.

Only played it for a couple of days. The Porsche 959 hammers around corners ..... and I'm considering donating a kidney for some laps in an Exige 8)

Yep this is the best car racing sim out there. I've got an awesome Rx8 that someone did up with that 787B renown colour scheme. Just got up to level 30!

The wheel is a must with this game too but it takes a while to get used to. The thing I found is it allows more precise controls but it makes it a little harder to drive an unstable car because you have to do more to catch it. Once you get used to it though you feel like you have a lot more precise control. Just a pity the quality of the ms wheel isnt as good as the high end logitech wheels, but it works just as well.

The 360 is definitely the car sim console of the next gen... at last count i've got 5 different car games: PGR3, PGR4, Test Drive Unlimited, DiRT (best rally game ever, awesome graphics) and Forza. Might pick up NFS Pro street too if thats decent.

SpeedRacerMx5 is my xbox live tag if anyone wants to add me.

I can imagine it would cool to race others online, better yet, have an unmodified MX5 race so it's down to the skill of the driver.
I've been afraid to get broadband cause I got a little hooked on LAN games a few years ago, so me thinks I will steer clear :frown:
Maybe someone can think up of a \"dodgy-night\" where an added feature to the dodgy day curriculum is to hook up 360's and get as many forumites online at the same time as possible.
Ok now THAT sounds waaaay too geeky
