Make sure you save the map before you do this. And find a decent Haltech tuner.
Also, the turbo cooling checklist is this:
- Oil Cooler
- SE thermostat
- both fans running in parallel
- coolant re-route
- higher pressure radiator cap
- bigger alloy radiator 40+mm
- 33% glycol coolant mix
- directing air to the top of the radiator and not through the intercooler
- decent intercooler design - not china-ebay ones
- fully fitted under tray
- fully ducted air to the cooler and radiator from the front bumper
My race car has all of these and can run 1bar boost at 8000rpm in 40degree heat and runs perfectly.
Thank you
Cant agree more with CT (except for the street Id go this way - well I have and I think I have the most radical setup here)
Also, the turbo cooling checklist is this:
- Oil Cooler
--THIS is the best thing you could do along with brand new bigger capacity lines to feed it, add more oil ;-) ALSO dont mount it in the engine bay!!!!! the rear of the car is the best place for it , we found leave the big rad in more water cooling, route oil cooler to rear of car, more oil on board more oil to heat up more to cool also more efficient using the under car air flow mounting is critical not to damage it though......take airflow and fluid dynamics into account- SE thermostat
- both fans running in parallel
helps BUT for track days only on the street not needed - higher pressure radiator cap
from pwr also- bigger alloy radiator 40+mm
PWR do a great one!!!Especially designed for the NB8B turbo application I should know we helped get it right- 33% glycol coolant mix
- decent intercooler design - not china-ebay ones
(DEFINATELY NO CHINESE ONES)- fully fitted under tray -
Not needed unless you plan on hitting the kitty litter standard one works fine- fully ducted air to the cooler and radiator from the front bumper (cutting holes into bumpers works BUT looks crap on a street car) get your inlet air from outside of the engine bay to start with
My 2c worth
