Perhaps the rules vary from state to state. When I took a Vic car to the ACT I had to obtain a certification from a regulated mech that the car was road legal, then take that certification to the ACT roads authoirty to get ACT number plates and rego.

with the car that i just bought from QLD, i had to get a blue slip, then i took that slip to the rta along with a receipt from the seller, handed in the qld plates and then paid for nsw rego and received new plates. I dont know what happens in other states though.

That blue slip says it's past a inspection and all is legal though. You wouldn't get that on, an illegally modified vehicle.

As for engineering, would depend on state to state as what it's legal in nsw it's not always legal elsewhere.

Have a look at what Patric supercharged na was going for to give you an, idea of pricing. Ball park I'd say 2k extra?

Are you saying that Patricks was going for 2k more than mine or mine is worth 2k less...sorry I'm confused.

As for engineering, all i can do is what other guys with forced induction mx5's do which is get it engineered here in NSW. If a buyer wants it engineered then I am more than happy to get that for them. I dont know what happens with registration interstate if an interstate buyer buys a vehicle that has been engineered here in NSW.

Sorry two different thoughts.

1. Have a look at patricks car for what an engineered car didn't quite fetch (I think It would have sold if it stayed up longer.)

2. Ball park guess between engineered and non engineered price of 2k.

Sounds like the car won't be legal in vic due to their stupid laws atleast until ncop comes in. if it's engineered in nsw, it shows that it should be ok in other states and that the paper work is probably collated for easy sign off if the new state needs it.

Between this stuff and the length of time listed, I'd probably not bump it till it's engineered then have the mods delete the thread before you relist. Ditto for carpoint.

Will make the car fresh on the market, especially carsales.

Finally keep in mind that the market is very poor. Just helped my old man by a 2003 323, it was listed at 4200 with a road worthy he ended up paying 2900 with out the road worthy. So advertised prices aren't what stuff is selling at.

good luck

I'm thinking its a waste to engineer it unless some one is keen on it. If nobody wants then I would turn it into a dedicated track car and so engineering is not required. But as I said, I'm more than happy to get it engineered if someone leaves a deposit and if for some reason it can't be engineered (very very unlikely) then I will refund the deposit.

In Vic we have to have the cars roadworthy completed, obtain certificate and then book in so Vic Roads can inspect the vehicle....
Unfortunately here any mods will need to be legal :( (or done after reg- then try not to be pulled up haha)!.

Car looks sweet!

So for example, if it was engineered here in nsw, would it pass inspection in VIC?

And what would someone pay for my car without the engineers certificate?

It would need to be re engineered in VIC, and I doubt it would pass the same way as laws are different regarding bits and pieces between states.

Id say the car would move for maybe 10,500.

so if an interstate buyer was interested there would be no point getting engineered here in NSW then right? But I will do it for a NSW buyer if need be.....so you reckon it would sell at $10,500??? Doesn't sound like much $$$ for what it is.... However, purely out of curiousity, any takers at $10,500????

It was pretty tough seeing it drive away but it has gone to a good guy who lives local so I'm sure I'll see it around...
