Its really easy to package up gearboxes, and plus it easily fits in your MX5 boot providing you don't have a spare wheel.
Go to the $2 dollar shop and buy some rolls of bubble wrap and brown tape and just wrap the whole thing up and you're good to go. E-Go charged me $30 from the Newcastle Depot to Melbourne depot.

also spikes: never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever use e-go. they are the single worst shipping company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They lost my part (front bumper) only to find it again two weeks later, damaged. refused to pay for the damage, and then sent me an invoice for $50 because apparently it was over the declared weight of 50kg, yeah right.
