BRIS: Long B6 motor

Hi,

Location: BRISBANE, NORTH SIDE, QLD, AUSTRALIA, EARTH, MILKY WAY (< 5 min from mx5 plus)

The time is getting closer to removing the b6 out of my roadster and putting in the bp.

If anyone is after a long nose b6 motor, I'll have it in the car for a few more weeks for you to come and inspect. The engine was purchased in April 2007 (I have receipts) to replace the broken short nose engine by the previous owners. The engine had an unknown amount of kilometres and I have not been able to figure out how many kilometres were done by the previous owner with the new engine; however I am lead to believe it was a small amount. I purchased the car earlier this year with approximately 115500 km and now has approx. 125000 km.

During the year I have had the injectors cleaned (1 replaced), replaced the alternator and IAC with second hand items purchased from mx5plus. The car has had the oil changed every 5000 km or less (experimented with a few different grade oils). The engine itself pulls fairly hard and is one of the stronger b6 engines I have driven.

The bad:
The engine does use a little oil – nothing much, maybe a bit less <1L over 5000 km
I would look at replacing the thermostat as it does take a while to heat up.
Look at getting another IAC valve, as it is starting to ramp on idle randomly again. It could just need a bit of a clean.
Is a little smokey at high RPM

I have receipts for the work done to the car whilst I have had it (or for parts purchased and installed by myself) and when the engine was installed .

This engine is ideal for someone looking to replace a tired short nose B6 engine.

I am chasing $650 ono – I am looking to sell this ASAP as I don’t have the room to keep it lying around. Come, inspect and make an offer. I plan on removing the engine the week before Christmas but can do it before if need be.

This includes:
The engine
Stock intake with throttle body and exhaust headers
Power steering pump
Alternator

I will have the complete air con system for sale separately.
I have a set of apexi 4-1 headers currently installed that can be purchased also.
