Fitting a SE exhaust onto a stock 98 NB8A

Postby wiztek » Thu Jun 28, 2012 9:15 pm

Lots of conflicting information on this topic on the US forums.
Adding to that, read some stuff here that the US NB headers were different to the AU ones, and that the NB8B headers and NB8A headers are different too, which leads to other fitment issues with an exhaust.
So does anyone know if a full SE exhaust from the headers back will fit onto stock NB8A headers?
A direct bolt on? o2 bungs etc all being in the right place?

I personally doubt it. but any workshop should do it for 150 odd.

The rear muffler will fit

The rest of the system is different

I have a MSM (SE) rear muffler on my car. It's a direct swap for the NB exhaust. Headers (obviously on a SE are a turbo) length is different and then the downpipe/cats/mid muffler are completely different. I don't there would be much of a benefit swapping the mid section but the rear can gives a slightly fruiter note and is quiet.

SE muffler/exhaust onto a NA is a different story, hangers are all in the wrong spot, different entry location etc.
