I saw a video of a ripped gym junkie getting pounded by a slightly smaller guy (read: smaller than the gym junkie, but still relatively big). Not something I'd like to see nor get involved in, but still funny to see these extremely "masculine" men, get beaten on. The gym junkie was your typical bogan, skinhead, commodore.

Really? I thought this forum would have had a more open mind. What suprises me the most is that this guy hasn't been praised for not acting out and hitting the guy back and the guy who started the fight has been glorified for taking on a "gym junkie skinhead"

Yes he has Tattoos, yes he has a terrible haircut, big deal, in this situation HE was the bigger man by simply protecting himself (arms in front of the face etc and ducking and weaving the punches).

He stated in his interview that he had been in trouble with the law before and was trying to change his tune, we don't know the full story, perhaps this is true, perhaps he's on a good behaviour bond and couldn't throw a punch if he didn't want to end up in Gaol, all I know from the video footage is that he did not act violently when he was getting the crap beaten out of him. It takes a bigger man to cop the hits than to swing them. I say good on him and we should stop judging people merely on their appearance.

I'm starting to get a little sick of the word 'c*nt' being yelled at me by mid 40's women and every tool wearing a white beater and a Monster hat. Same with idiots cutting me off in road rage. I don't know if it's just drivers being more stupid in Geelong or just a general thing on the road but god it's annoying.
I get abuse just parking my car then idiots cut ME off then start yelling abuse as if it's my fault. Maybe things have changed since I had my last two cars but I don't recall ever hearing anything like this back then.
A lot of the time I'll have a car of young wankers next to me at the lights begging me to wind down my window so they can abuse me. I've had my car bottled a couple of times now as well.

Why does the world hate Mx5's?????????????????????????

On the plus side, unlike my previous cars, I have had ZERO police attention with this thing :D :D :D :D So I can live with the bogans hating if this is the trade off

Better than violence, if they are yelling at you with their windows down just use your dry powder extinguisher straight through their window.

Fair point, but who knows what the real story is? I never ever believe any ACA bullcrap as it always contains the most skewed and commercialised stories. And not to be a cynic, and not watching this said interview, ofcourse that's what you'd say in an interview. He's not going to go around saying he got scared of the other guy and didn't fight back. I wouldn't either if I was in his position. Also you can clearly see after the punches were thrown, the 'victim' says something and the aggressor turns back, clearly, he's not innocent himself, likely taunting the other guy. I'm not saying the aggressor was right, but it's not a one way black and white thing.

I never said the guy who threw punches is a hero, he's a dog for road raging, but I believe both parties at fault, he most likely brought it upon himself.

And I'm sorry, but if some guy threatens me, my family or my property, including my ride, I'd defend myself (unless as you mentioned he could be on bail or probation or other restrictions). Call me violent, but I don't buy into the pacifist thing.

About that road rage bashing...didn't mean to start a discussion about whe whole incident and how/what happened, who was right or wrong or whatever. Was more to bring up the point that some people out there are willing to resort to physical violence. Rarther, people would prefer to end an argument with a test of fisty cuffs over talking it out like grown adults.

I just hope everyone here gets a lesson in what happened to those 2.

I agree, "haters" is such a ridiculous term, one used by people with little or no command of the English language.

Doug you've been around the MX-5 since before you were a teenager, you know the car and you know the people who drive them. People make judgements out of ignorance and the only losers are the ones who know no better than the crapheaps they're stuck with.

"Haters" is just a word coined on the Internet, meaning it isn't specific to a country. You don't have to be American to use it, nor do you have to be an imbecile. Using it doesn't offend anyone. If you don't want to say it then that's fine, but don't waste your time whingeing about it.

I assume it was because that car had some serious pick-up. From a standing start I don't doubt that he would have smoked me - different story when we were both starting around 60km/h though, I just had to drop back a gear for instant "Oomph".

Yeah I get that a lot on freeways, particularly from 4WDs and vans. The last 4WD encounter was when the guy didn't see me, started to move over and at the last monent must have seen me right next to him. At 100km/h that's scary. Next thing I've got a rear view full of 4WD...so I moved over. Of course he sped past then slowed down. Odd. Must have shown that MX5 driver a thing or two, eh.

I had a Toyota Prado merge onto my old Ford XR4. Needless to say, I'm usually driving with my lights on, and not staying next to trucks often.

Reads like you purposefully blocked someone from changing lanes and boxed them in against a slower vehicle?!

i rarely have run ins.

last one was an angry sex deprived just past middle aged women who beeped at me for driving too slow. she didn't take into account the two cars in front of me going slow.

we both turned right into the next corner and beep at me again.

i brake checked her gave her the finger and kept on driving.

she probably aged about 3 days in 5 minutes getting that angry.

No, we just happened to accelerate at the same time - that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I've had abuse a couple of times, not for some time now though. The most memorable was driving back from QLD one time and I stopped in Parkes. I was lowered, so had to slow down for a speed hump, which enraged one of the three guys across the back seat of a Commodore yelled out the typical 'faggot' comment. I don't think he quite saw the irony that a single female just got called a faggot by a guy playing piggy in the middle with two other guys...

The only other time I can remember was as we were just starting out on a club run. The usual faggot comments.

Meh, I'm not really concerned about it. I'm sure they're exceptionally proud of their achievements in life and the local sheep population is quite safe. It's not really worth worrying about to be honest.
